Margot opened in a dilapidated shop in February 2016. It took almost a year of building work and planning to get Margot open and we refine and work on what we do every day but it is exactly as we hoped; a centre of community life and a place to buy wonderful bread and pastries.

We don't have night shifts and so the bread, pastries and cakes are baked just a short time before they hit the counter. The changing bakery menu is guided by what we are excited about; customer favourites, festivals, celebrations and seasonal produce.

We opened our Holloway site which homes our main production bakery and a photography studio above (Holloway Model Bakery & Georges Road studio @ 66 Georges Rd N7 8JN) in August 2022 and our Highgate shop on Archway Road in October 2024.

The bread and pastries, including babka, brioche and croissants are uniquely leavened with sourdough and we believe that this makes the best baked goods possible. We use seeds, whole grains and a long fermentation process to make full flavoured, nutritious and delicious bread. 

We bake with organic, free range eggs from Rookery farm which are delivered fresh every week. The cakes are baked with organic flour and Estate Dairy butter and we use ethical and delicious chocolate made by Original Beans. 

Do come by for wonderful specialty coffee from Campbell & Syme and to see what is coming out of the oven; we have homemade granola, sandwiches, sourdough focaccia, savoury and sweet pastries and changing daily specials.

We have inside and outside seating at East Finchley and a small number of seats inside at Highgate. Holloway has indoor and outdoor seating - the yard is at its best in the warmer months! Please note we don’t take cash, only card payments.
